Zen led a full life. Teaching dance, taking classes, writing provocative articles for Black Venue magazine, and basking in the attention of the incredibly handsome Jeffrey. However, Jeffrey wanted to go in a direction that she wasn't ready for. He needed to realize that she was a young eagle just freed from her endangered status, ready to spread her wings and soar. She welcomed him to fly with her, but she needed to remain free from any constraints. Living The Zen Life, she couldn't afford any distractions.

Yet, he remained cautious, aware that some locals who had once seen him tormented by his demons were now curious to see if he was truly free. This realization made him smile, grateful that he had overcome his past as Crazy Charlie, and embraced his true identity as a husband, father, and artist.

Willie Mae had discovered a newfound zest for life. After spending years fighting battles, she found solace in her new family life and was determined to move forward. Her granddaughter became her mentor, guiding her through the lessons she needed to learn.
